Quick Snack - Ribbon Sandwiches

Hunger strikes uncalled and at odd times. Here’s a recipe for a quick snack that is satisfying and delicious at the same time.

You will need:
6 slices of white bread
Mint (pudina) chutney (recipe follows)
Any flavour Tomato sauce
2-3 tbsps Butter



  1. Cut the sides of the bread.
  2. Apply Mint(pudina) chutney to one side, butter to the second slice and tomato sauce on the third as shown in the picture.


3.Flip the side with mint chutney onto the buttered slice and then place this on top of the slice with sauce.
4.Cut lengthwise into 3 parts.
5.Ribbon Sandwich is ready to chomp on! J


This makes great finger food at parties. It’s light and easy to make.

Mint(pudina) chutney

You will need:
Mint – 1 to 1 ½ bunches
Garlic – 4 to 5 small pods
Onions- ½
Green chillies – 7-8
Cilantro (coriander) – ½ bunch
Salt to taste

Place the above ingredients in a blender with little water and make a smooth paste. Store in an air tight plastic container. Freeze to store for more than a month.
